Welcome!

I’d like to extend the warm welcome to you from the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic family. We are honored to have you with us today, whether you are visiting us for the first time or have chosen to call St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Church as your parish! We pray that the Lord will continue to bless you as you desire to serve Him!

The Syro-Malabar church is an  East Syrian Rite, a Major Archiepiscopal church in full communion with the Catholic church. St. Thomas christians (Marthoma Nazranis) trace their origins to the evangelical mission of St. Thomas Apostle. In 52 AD St.

Thomas the Apostle landed in south-western India at the ancient and extinct port of Muziris (near Kodungallur in Kerala). After preaching and establishing Christian communities in different parts of India, he suffered martyrdom at Mylapur (near Chennai, in Tamil Nadu) in 72 AD. It is this faith St.Thomas the Apostle and the traditions from our culture that have carried on today and continue to serve a witness to Christ.

Love and Prayers,
Fr. Jacob Christy Parambukattil
